Tile Quantity Calculator
Ordering tiles is about wastage: cuts at the edges, pattern matching and breakage. Layout decides the allowance — a diagonal pattern wastes twice what a straight grid does.

Assumptions & limits+
- Money figures use MAYA's illustrative planning rates — an indicative estimate, not a quotation. A site-verified BOQ follows a consultation.
- Wastage allowance accounts for edge cuts, pattern matching and 1–2% breakage.
- Skirting and wall tiles are not included — run the calculator separately for each surface.
- Total estimate covers floor tile material for the order area (including wastage); grout, adhesive and laying labour are excluded.
Questions people ask
Why 7% wastage for a straight layout?+
Edge cuts and 1–2% breakage. Large-format tiles in small rooms can need more; small mosaics less.
Does it include skirting or wall tiles?+
No. Run the calculator again with the skirting length × height or the wall area.
Should I keep spare tiles?+
Yes — keep one box from the same batch for future repairs; shade varies between batches.
